Now Hiring! Program Manager, Rural Health Transformation Pharmacy Initiative

 

The Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA) is seeking a highly organized Program Manager to lead the Rural Health Transformation Pharmacy Initiative, a statewide grant-funded effort focused on strengthening rural pharmacy practice and improving access to care in rural Ohio communities. Read more about the Rural Health Transformation Pharmacy Initiative here!

The Program Manager will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the initiative, including finances, project timelines, meetings, partner engagement, pharmacy site communication, deliverable tracking, and reporting support. This individual will collaborate with OPA staff and report to the Director of Public Health Initiatives and CEO to implement the grant. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, proactive, and skilled at turning broad goals into clear actionable steps. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Manage project timelines, budget, workplans, task trackers, and deliverable calendars. 

• Coordinate and collaborate on meetings with OPA staff, ODH, advisory board members, pharmacy sites, colleges of pharmacy, health care partners, and other stakeholders. 

• Prepare agendas, meeting materials, notes, and follow-up communications. 

• Track action items and follow up with partners to keep the project moving forward. 

• Support recruitment, onboarding, and communication with participating rural pharmacy sites. 

• In-state travel to participating pharmacies to assist with training coordination, technical assistance activities, and implementation support. 

• Collect and organize information needed for grant reporting, evaluation, and outcome tracking. 

• Maintain accurate project records, contact lists, shared files, and documentation systems. 

• Provide financial oversight of the grant, including budget management software, payments and regular financial reports to funders and OPA leadership.  

• Help prepare reports, updates, presentations, and other materials for funders, leadership, and stakeholders. 

• Identify potential delays or barriers and communicate them early to project leadership. 

Required Minimum Qualifications 

• Pharmacy background required, including experience as a pharmacist, pharmacy technician, or in another pharmacy-related role. 

• Knowledge of Ohio health care systems, community pharmacy, rural health, or clinical pharmacy service implementation. 

• Experience coordinating programs, projects, grants, events, or multi-partner initiatives. 

• Strong organizational and time management skills. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, shared document systems, virtual meeting platforms, and basic project tracking tools. 

• Ability to work independently while keeping leadership informed. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience with grant-funded programs or grant reporting. 

• Experience in health care, public health, rural health, nonprofit associations, or member-based organizations. 

• Experience coordinating advisory committees, workgroups, trainings, or external partner meetings. 

• Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite, shared document systems, virtual meeting platforms, and basic project tracking tools. 

• Bachelor’s degree or similar experience in pharmacy, public health, health administration, business administration, project management, health sciences, nonprofit management, or a related field.

This person should be confident in keeping a complex project organized and moving forward. 

Position Impact 

This role will be essential to moving the Rural Health Transformation Pharmacy Initiative from planning to implementation. The Program Manager will help ensure that grant activities are completed on time, partners remain engaged, pharmacy sites are supported, and project outcomes are clearly documented.
